Two sisters, two children and two dependent men are forced to confront their relationships in a cramped family home that has seen better days.
Over the course of only eighty minutes, Small Things reveals itself to be a hauntingly beautiful chamber drama guided by an emotional complexity that emerges through its refusal to manufacture the kind of catharsis or easy resolutions that we often find in more melodramatic examinations of similar themes, choosing instead to draw on a subtle observational approach that prevents any kind of overwrought spectacle.
