synopsis

After the death of his gay brother, the straight Roman goes to a grief support group for twins who have lost their sibling. There, he meets the equally twinless Dennis and they quickly bond over their peculiar situation and shared loss. Blending black comedy, psychological tension, and queer drama, the film uses its increasingly unsettling relationship dynamics to explore grief, identity, co-dependency, and the longing to replace what can never truly be recovered.

Even without its numerous rug-pulls, which occur early enough that the movie soon takes on an entirely different tone, "Twinless" is a masterful example of shifting cinematic POV.

Observer

A masterfully crafted and thought-provoking dramedy that’s sure to leave you with much to grapple with. Beyond being thematically rich and carefully assembled, it’s also just a really good time.
