From the worlds of Forbidden Planet to the visions of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Solaris, from the missions of Apollo 11 and First Man to the intimate odysseys of Moon, High Life and Interstellar, SPACEWALKS traces the exploration of space as cinema has imagined, staged and continually reinvented it.
Across eras, from the wonder of early cinematic trickery to contemporary reflections on time, memory and solitude, these films tell a single story: that of humanity confronting the infinite, only to discover, at the end of the journey, that the greatest mystery may not be the universe, but ourselves.
SPACEWALKS also extends into our family programmes, Afternoon Adventures and Cinema Paradiso, offering a playful continuation of this journey through the many worlds of the space imagination.
